Im Jahr 2002 hat Peugeot einen Deignwettbewerb "concours de design" mit dem Thema "retrofuturisme" ausgeschrieben. Folgende fantastischen Beitraege auf Basis des Peugeot 404 sind von dem Ungarischen Designer: Bognár Béla ifj eingereicht worden:

The car which I have choosen to re-design in a retro-futuristic style is Peugeot 404 Coupe. This type had a Cabrio version, too. My retro-404 is a coupe-cabriolet.
The 404, designed by Pininfarina, was one of the most favourite cars in the 1960's.We have seen it in many films, photos and posters.No doubt we can't imagine the 1960's without this car easy.
I thoroughly studied the shape of the car and tried to find the featureswhich identify this car. I tried to use these features in my concept.
I also tried to put something from the style of the 206 and 307 into my retro-design. I did this because I think the life-style which 404 transmitted is similar to the feeling given by these cars.

Some technical information about the car:
This concept is a full-size four-seated vehicle. The divided hard top can be hided into the luggage-rack. The car meets the current technical requirements.
- The instruments and the semi-automatic gearshift can be controlled from the steering wheel
- Information screen integrated into the inter-seat platform.
- The side-mirrors have been left to reduce drag. They are replaced with cameras and screens.
